GoodBerry field trials at UPM

In this short video Luca Mazzoni junior researcher at UPM provides an overview of the field trials in Ancona Italy after one month of harvest season. Within GoodBerry UPM is one of five partners responsible for field trials growing plants with different genotypes that were sent from Spain. In May 2018, plants planted in July 2017 were phenotyped in the field, the fruits were harvested, divided into categories (from top quality fruits to waste fruits), frozen and sent to the laboratory for analysis of secondary metabolites and RNA. Next to this, further characteristics such as color and firmness as well as for example sugar, acidity and PH were measured. This data is collected and then compared to the data obtained in the other locations in Europe.
